The Fresno Economic Opportunities Commission (EOC) is an equal employment opportunity employer, and is hiring an OUTREACH WORKER.

This employee provides street-based outreach services to run away and/or homeless youth, victims of labor and/or sex trafficking, adults, and chronically homeless individuals and families. Assist with identifying and adjusting clients to a safe and appropriate living arrangement by providing referrals to shelter and services that may include meals, laundry, transportation and assistance in identifying housing, employment, public benefits. Assists in the fulfillment of the agency’s vision, “For Those We Serve,” by empowering individuals who thrive as healthy, self-sufficient and contributing members of our communities.

High school diploma or GED.

Minimum of 60 college units in a Human Services field required. Work experience may substitute required education on a year-by-year basis.


Minimum of one year related experience required.

Prior experience working with youth, homeless populations or in a social service related area preferred.


Willing to work non-traditional hours and days to meet the needs of this position.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and web-based reporting systems.

Effective presentation, written and verbal communication skills.

Bilingual English/Spanish or other secondary language preferred.

Basic knowledgeable of the Welfare and Institutions Code and other laws affecting children and families in the State of California preferred.

Knowledgeable of Community Care Licensing, Title 22 Group Home standards for facilities, staffing, and services preferred.

Familiarity and ability to work with youth/families of all cultural, ethnic, religious and socio- economic backgrounds.

Pass required background investigation including medical examination and TB clearance, acceptable criminal record statement, Department of Justice fingerprint clearance, and child abuse index clearance.

Maintain a valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, adequate auto insurance as required by State law, and insurability by agency carrier.

CPR and First Aid training required within six months of hire.
