Education and Outreach Specialist

Type: Part Time (Up to 29 hour per week)

FLSA status: Non-Exempt

Days/Hours: Monday thru Friday (must be available for
occasional evenings and weekends); Flexible

Manager Title: Education and Outreach Manager

Hourly Wage: $12.25/hr.

SUMMARY: This position actively participates in all aspects of the
Marjaree Mason Center’s education programs, which provide education on a
number of domestic violence related topics to schools, community groups and
businesses. Establishes strategic relationships with participating
intermediate schools and high schools in Marjaree Mason Center’s youth
education programs. Participate and present at agency outreach events.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties
may be assigned.

Oversee the implementation of the youth education program and objectives
throughout affiliated schools to include; attend school site meetings,
practices, presentations and events according to guidelines; approve peer
lead skits before they are implemented in school; work with advisors in
implementing program assistance when needed on site.

Encourage and assist peer leaders and advisors with yearly recruitment.

Assist with the annual youth education training, community
presentations, volunteer, parent/child orientations and training workshops.

Must be able to effectively deliver curriculum or presentations to

Collect data and organize program documentation from school sites.

Maintain ongoing communication and positive relationships with all
program partners.

Participate in youth education team meetings to ensure program success;
assistance with special projects; continued program development and
sustainability; reporting; data-entry.

Maintain Marjaree Mason Center and youth education program policies and

Develop creative and effective events and activities to engage

Provide education to community groups and businesses.

Regular attendance and promptness are considered part of each employee’s

Participate in community outreach events

Provide presentations on topics such as DV 101, healthy relationships
and teen dating violence as well as other agency presentations.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an
individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The

Two years’ experience with youth education programs, (Knowledge of Safe
Dates and Know More Programs are preferred)
– Completed 24 units from an accredited college, preferred


Bilingual Spanish, Hmong or Punjabi is a plus

Must have the ability to work occasional evenings and weekends

Must have reliable transportation

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
– Excellent written and oral communication skills


Possession of a valid California driver’s license and proof of liability
insurance on personal auto.Must be insurable at all times at standard rate
by set by MMC insurance carrier.

Must pass tuberculosis test, drug test and background check.

Must be insurable at all times at the standard rate set MMC’s insurance


– Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of
measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

ability to adjust focus.
