2. Dream Initiative Administration and Management
Manage coaching staff, support staff for extra income opportunities for
Teaching Fellows, additional staff support and interns. Direct the
operations and support personnel of the Dream Initiative department.
Develop the department’s annual budget and strategic direction, plans, and
long- or short-term goals and objectives. Responsible for communicating and
working cooperatively with company leadership on department’s plans, budget
and outcomes during the year. Develop efficient and effective systems for
important department data acquisition and management; conduct and compile
evaluations and semester surveys; commit to monitoring and producing
program outcomes. Manage the Care Fund for Teaching Fellows hardships and
assist in fund development initiatives for the Dream. When addressing
company Dream Initiative matters affecting organizational policy,
customarily and regularly exercise appropriate discretion and independent
judgment when comparing and evaluating possible courses of conduct and
acting or making a decision after the various possibilities have been
considered. (Performs approx. 35% of the day)

Dream Initiative Workshops, Meetups and Program Development
Direct and advance the company’s Dream Initiative through the promotion,
coordination and facilitation of workshops, “meetup” events, outreach,
orientations, and other programs to support the soft skills development and
well-being of the organization’s workforce. Coordinate event facility
arrangements, speakers and hospitality. Dream Initiative events may be
conducted weeknights or on Saturdays throughout the month. This includes
programs in the Central (largest), North and South Regions. (Performs
approx. 30%)

Marketing, Communications and Promotions
Assist with the development, implementation, and evaluation of California
Teaching Fellows annual strategic communication and marketing plan for the
Dream Initiative. Assist with the creation and drafting of written
educational and informational materials, including the weekly Motivator
e-newsletter and/or weekly e-publications. Oversee the development and
regular updates of all major Dream Initiative promotions, including
website, social media, videos, presentations, photographs, testimonials,
exhibits, and so forth. Includes a strong presence at the Saturday Academy
events. Ensure clear and consistent messaging, voice, and branding
throughout the organization to ensure a seamless brand experience for
employees, partners, and the general public across all organizational
platforms. (Performs approx. 25% of day)

Perform Other Duties as Assigned
Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish
your work during the workday; attend and assist with company meetings,
community functions and events as needed; and perform other duties as
assigned. (Performs approx. 10% of day)

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training/Experience/License Required:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three years related work
experience in marketing communications, special events, program
development, and/or special projects; experience in event coordination,
marketing, and/or communications is preferred; knowledgeable and skilled in
delivering outstanding customer and personal service, such as assessing the
needs of business clients, office, and program staff while meeting high
quality standards for services; knowledgeable of the structure and content
of the English language and be able to communicate clearly in English;
ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing, recording and
entering information; demonstrated excellent interpersonal, verbal,
listening and written communication skills; knowledgeable of administrative
and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files
and records, designing forms, working with databases, and other office
procedures and terminology; demonstrated team building, leadership,
analytical, and problem solving skills; attention to detail; stress and
time management skills; skilled in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and
PowerPoint; skilled in the use of desktop publishing programs, such as,
Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or other graphics software is preferred;
experience working with social media and video experience is preferred;
effective organizational skills; the ability to work in a fast-paced,
multi-faceted work environment with occasional evening and Saturday hours;
possess a high degree of trustworthiness; the ability to work with a high
diversity of people, including the ability to demonstrate respect and
sensitivity for others; and possess flexibility and a sound work ethic.
