The Fresno County Clerk’s Office will be conducting an election on Tuesday,
March 5 2019 in the city of Clovis and encompassing parts of North Fresno.
As in previous elections, our department is *actively recruiting precinct
officers that are bilingual and fluent in the languages of Spanish, Hmong,
Punjabi, Khmer, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Korean and Chinese*.
Attached in this email, please find a pdf of our precinct officer
application. The application details some of the duties and requirements
of serving as a poll worker. Poll workers assist in all phases of the
voting process as necessary such as issuing and receiving ballots from
voters. They also work together to prepare, open and close the polling
place to which they are assigned.
Precinct officers can be assigned as inspectors (lead position) or clerks.
Those that serve in this lead capacity will make $175 while those serving
as clerks will make $150.
We are currently in a really big need for Korean and Vietnamese speakers.
The locations where individuals fluent in these languages are needed are :
Korean speaking precinct officer: Fugman Elementary School at 10825 N Cedar
Ave, Fresno, Ca.
Vietnamese speaking precinct officer: Freedom Elementary School at 2955
Gettysburg Ave, Fresno Ca.
Vietnamese speaking precinct officer: Clovis Christian Church at 1701 Locan
Ave, Clovis Ca.
If you know anyone that can speak the languages of Korean and Vietnamese
and is interested in this opportunity, please forward this information to
them. Our main goal is to provide language accessibility to our voters and
we would appreciate the help. Please reach out to Andrew Baza at
559-600-1620 to discuss the need for poll workers.
